San José State football (4-5, 3-2 Mountain West) hosts No. 25 Fresno State (8-1, 4-1 Mountain West) in the Battle for the Valley on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on KTRB 860 AM and CBS Sports Network.

• SJSU is coming off a 35-0 win over Hawai’i on Oct. 28 as they look for their fourth win in a row.
• The Spartans have outscored their opponents 129-45 combined in their last three games.
• The Spartans have lost only seven turnovers this season which is good for 10th in the nation and tops in the Mountain West. Their +9 turnover margin is good for sixth in the country and second in the MW.
• The Spartans have three takeaways in each of their last two games and five games overall this season. Their 16 takeaways rank 24th nationally and fifth in the Mountain West.
• The Spartans special teams have two blocked punts including one for a touchdown, have a punt return touchdown and have recovered three onside kicks this season, plus have two fumble recoveries on kick offs this season. According to ESPN, the Spartans have the number two special teams unit in the country at 74.3 efficiency.
• The Spartans had two players who played their 55th career game against Hawai’i (10/28) in Jaime Navarro and Tre Jenkins. They tied the record for most games played at SJSU with Jack Snyder (2017-21) and Cade Hall (2018-22).
• The first four FBS teams the Spartans played this season are a combined 30-7 (USC 7-3, OSU 7-2, Toledo 8-1, Air Force 8-1).
• SJSU has rushed for 200-plus yards in three straight games for the first time since 2005. They now have four games this season with at least 200 for the first time since 2015.’
• The Spartans rushed for 259 yards at UNM (10/14) and 251 yards against Utah State (10/21) and it’s the first time since 2006 the Spartans have back-to-back 250-plus rushing yard games. The Spartans have only failed to hit 100 rushing yards in two games this season. SJSU ran for 267 yards earlier this season against Cal Poly which were the most rushing yards in a game for SJSU since 12/08/20 against Hawai’i when they ran for 288 yards.
• Senior Kairee Robinson is averaging 6.48 yards per carry this season which is tops in the MW and 13th in the country. Robinson has a career 2,238 rushing yards which is seventh all-time in SJSU history and has three straight 100-plus yard games.
• Robinson has a rushing touchdown in every game he’s played in this season and his 13 rushing touchdowns are his season high and he is two behind Deoncé Whitaker (2000) and Johnny Johnson, Jr. (1988) who own the SJSU single-season record with 15.
• Robinson now owns the SJSU record with eight consecutive games with a rushing touchdown and his 13 rushing touchdowns are tops in the Mountain West and third in the nation. The SJSU record for most games with a rushing touchdown in a season is 10 by Kenny Jackson (1987).
• Robinson has 15 total touchdowns this season which is a season-high and he is four behind Johnny Johnson, Jr. (1988) who owns the SJSU single-season record with 19.
• Robinson also has 31 career touchdowns which is only behind Deoncé Whitaker (1998-2001) who had 35 for the SJSU record.
• Senior Chevan Cordeiro has 11,407 total passing yards during his career and passed 10,000 yards against Toledo (9/16). Cordeiro is third all-time on the Mountain West career passing yards list and is behind Ryan Lindley (SDSU) for second who threw for 12,690 yards. Cordeiro is eighth in career yards in the NCAA with players currently playing.
• Cordeiro has thrown 11 touchdowns this season and is fifth on the all-time Mountain West Conference list with 81 career touchdown passes. BYU’s Max Hall owns the MW record after throwing for 94 touchdowns from 2007-09.
• Cordeiro is six touchdowns from tying Fresno’s Derek Carr for fourth all-time in Mountain West history.
• Cordeiro is the all-time Mountain West leader for touchdowns responsible for with 106 and the all-time MW leader for most plays with 2,026.
• Cordeiro has 12,929 career yards gained is good for second in Mountain West history and is  only behind Brett Rypien who had 13,494 career yards at Boise State.
• Cordeiro has 912 career completions which is good for third in Mountain West history and is behind Ryan Lindley for second who had 961 career completions.
• Cordeiro has only thrown three interceptions this season which is good for fourth in the nation and first in the Mountain West.
• Cordeiro went 117 passing attempts without throwing an interception this season. Cordeiro made 170 passing attempts last season before throwing his first pick.
• The Spartans have the 14th best pass defense in the nation and second best pass defense in the MW averaging just 178.8 yards per game.
• The Spartans last win over a ranked team was November 29, 2013 in a 62-52 home win over No. 16 Fresno State.
• The last time SJSU played three ranked teams in a season was in 2018 when they played at #20/#23 Oregon, at #16/#14 Utah State and at RV/#23 Fresno State.
• This is the first time the Spartans have ever hosted two ranked teams in the same season.
• Robinson and Quali Conley (133 yards) each had 100 plus yards rushing against UNM (10/14) and it was the first time two SJSU running backs each had 100 yards rushing in a game since Robinson and Tyler Nevens completed the feat against Hawaii on December 5, 2020.
• Junior Bryun Parham had a career-high two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble, plus added 12 tackles at BSU (10/7). Parham is seventh in the MW with 71 tackles. He is also first in the MW and eighth in the country in fumbles recovered (2).
• Sophomore Jay’Vion Cole has eight pass deflections this season which is good for 15th in the country and second in the Mountain West. Cole has three interceptions this season to lead the Spartans which is good for 25th in the country and fourth in the conference.
